‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help’ Psalm 121

St. Andrew’s Church Choir

St. Andrew’s Church, Coulsdon has a strong musical tradition and the choir has sung at the church since it was built in 1914, and certainly as early as 1906 when Rev. Francis H. Roberts became the first Vicar.

Our Sunday worship is blessed with a mixed, versatile, robed choir providing organ and piano music week by week.  The choir sings an introit at the start of the service, an anthem during communion and helps lead the rest of the worship.

We are always happy to welcome new members.  Why not come alone one Sunday – see us, hear us, have coffee and a chat with us and hopefully join us!

The Organ

The organ was built by William Hill in 1904 for St. John’s Church, Deptford and was brought to St. Andrew’s in 1949.  It contains 1271 pipes and was extensively rebuilt in 2002 by Vincent Coggins.  It has two manuals and pedals and two sets of adjustable pistons.
