Traidcraft  stall in the hall after the service today.  Do come along and stock up on
Fairtrade goodies.  Fairtrade Fortnight begins on 27 February when everyone is encouraged
to take a step of support by buying an extra fairly traded product.

Five Talents Come and hear about a local charity which helps people in developing countries to save and borrow from communal funds to support their families and businesses.  In Sudan the charity is helped by Comic Relief and works in partnership with the Mothers' Union to deliver financial training to women who are rebuilding their lives after long periods of conflict and insecurity.  Mothers' Union meeting 8.00 p.m. Tuesday 21st February in the Committee Room.  All welcome.

Faith Hope Love Lent Groups: The Wednesday group will meet briefly on 22nd February at 10 to pick up the books and discuss the format. The sessions start on 29th February. Our theme for Lent this year is Faith Hope Love, the theme of Bishop Christopher’s Call to Mission, which will be launched on Sunday 4th March when Revd Canon Jane Steen, Canon Theologian of Southwark Cathedral is our guest preacher. If you are able to contribute the cost of £5.99 for the book, please leave it in the brown envelope marked Lent Books in the Narthex. If you are unable to sustain the cost, that’s fine too!  Cost should be no object to participation!

Rotary Club Barn Dance: Saturday 17th March, a fundraiser for local Cancer Charities. Live caller, fish and chips supper and glass of wine, £12. All are welcome dancers and non-dancers alike! Speak to Ray Denvil, Bob Witham or Vickie Sims for tickets

Paul Roberts and Friends - a Concert at St. John's Church, Old Coulsdon, on Friday, 24th February at 7.30 pm in aid of church funds.  It starts with a brilliant young trumpeter, Nick Smith, who, at the age of 12, has already gained a diploma. Performers include Amy Roberts playing cor anglais in Schumann’s ‘Adagio and Allegro’; Nerys Richards plays movements from Franck’s Sonata for Violin; Melanie Mehta singing excerpts from ‘Die Fledermaus’ by Johann Strauss & ‘Tom Jones’ by Edward German. Nicy Roberts sings a selection of English songs, and Gerald Bodmer plays two movements from Brahm’s 2nd Sonata for Clarinet.  Also students from Coulsdon College preparing for their Grade 8 music exams. You can expect a high standard of music making and a very enjoyable evening.Tickets  £10 - from St. John's Parish Office (01737 552461) or on the door.

NEXT SUNDAY Stewardship Launch: We will launch our Stewardship Campaign, Faith in our Future next Sunday at the 9.45 am service. This will include a brief [and interesting] presentation by Edward Denley about the finances and funding of the church. Please make a special effort to attend that day! 

Taize Prayer services - in the hospital chapel at Croydon University hospital.  These will be held over the year.  The first will be on Tuesday 28th February at 7.00pm and will be lead by Nick Hughes.  All welcome.
