Weddings

‘And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.’ 1 Corinthians 13:13

Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage.  We are here to help and support you, as you plan your big day.

In general, people living within the parish boundaries of St Andrew, or people worshipping here regularly, may hold their wedding service at St Andrew’s.  A range of musical settings can be used and you may also book the Choir.  In the event that you live in this parish, but are marrying in another church, you may request that your marriage banns be called at St Andrew’s Church.

Alongside the wedding preparations it is also important to spend time as a couple talking through your expectations of marriage.  Remember, you are still two separate individuals with different personalities, experiences, hopes and fears.  We are able to spend some time with you talking through these considerations.

We believe that marriage is a gift from God, the source of all love. Jesus was a guest at a wedding in Cana of Galilee where he turned water into wine – the first of his miracles according to St John’s gospel. Whilst we can’t promise to do that at St Andrew’s (!), we can ensure that your day is a special, spiritual and significant celebration.

Our beautiful building, talented director of music and warm welcome help to create a wonderful atmosphere for you and your guests. Those who live in our parish, worship with us or have a family connection are welcome to marry at St Andrew’s.

Please contact the Parish Office to find out more.  Send an email to  or call 020 8676 2966, leaving a message on the answer machine if directed to do so.
