Welcome to our new style monthly magazine. It contains all the usual articles and information (including Esther’s corny jokes!) but gives us room to add contact details, useful to us all but particularly for people who are new to our church family or visiting for the first time.

1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month Holy Communion 10am in the Lady Chapel On the 3rd Wednesday there is Holy Communion with laying on of hands and anointing for healing Suzanne Peppitt writes about What’s special about Wednesday morning Services at St Andrew’s? St Andrew’s has a Holy Communion service on the first Wednesday of the month at 10am, and a Service of Holy Communion with Anointing and the Laying on of Hands on the third Wednesday of the month at 10am. Here are a few thoughts on why the short Wednesday 10am always makes my week better and brings me encouragement, joy and peace.
- Location, location, location
- The chance to experience stillness
- Thought provoking words
I have experienced real blessing from this gentle yet powerful service. I can’t do better than to quote from the introductory words of the order of service:
“From the earliest days, Christians have shared in a ministry of healing –
prayer with anointing and the laying on of hands…the ministry of healing
is a powerful way of experiencing the grace of God in our need. In this
service we remember that each one of us is loved and valued by God and
we remember and pray for those for whom we have a special
concern…May the healing power of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ, fill our
whole being, body, mind and spirit. May he take away all that hurts or
harms us, and give us his peace. Amen.” |
