Messy Church on 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 3.30pm: Next date 18th September.

Angel Festival at Michaelmas   On Saturday 29th of September we are celebrating the feast of St Michael and All Angels with an Angel festival in the church, plus our Church Fair.  

  • We need prizes for our bottle tombola and raffle – plus cakes, preserves, good quality bric-a-brac and toys.  Your kindness is greatly appreciated!  Please pop your donations into the box in the Narthex. 
  • If you are able to help on the day, have a chat with Esther who is organising the fair this year.

On Sunday 30th September at 6pm we are having a celebratory Evensong with angel cake and fizz.  All welcome!

Harvest Festival followed by Brunch – Sunday 7th October 9.45 am  

Licensing of Gerry Daley as Reader. We are delighted that Gerry is to be licensed by the Bishop on Sunday October 7th at 6.30 pm in Southwark Cathedral.  All are welcome to the service.   

Save the dates!

  • Collation of Esther as Vicar. This will take place during our morning Eucharist at St. Andrew’s on Sunday 2nd December 
  • Advent Quiet Day at Wychcroft on Saturday 8th December.  The theme will be ‘Advent Angels’.  Cost, including hot lunch, tea and coffee will be £15 for adults.  Under 16s free.

Purley Food Hub – please help. Donations always welcome for Purley Food Hub.  On the list this month are: long life whole milk; 500g bags of sugar; jars of fish and meat paste; tinned plain meat – chicken, corned beef, ham; packs of 40 or 80 tea bags; chocolate treats for children, sweets and savoury biscuits.  Non food items particularly needed are: non-bio washing tablets/sachets; disposable razors, adults toothbrushes.  Please just pop your donations in the box in the Narthex.  Thank you for your generosity to people in need.  

St Andrew’s needs YOU!  The new rotas for Sidespeople and Readers will be prepared shortly.  Is there anyone who would like to join the list of Readers and/or a Sidesperson or Welcomer?  Id so please speak to Rosemary or Audra.  Also if you would like to take an Element (wafers, wine and water) to the altar following the Peace, do let Rosemary know.  Thank you. 

Can you help to make coffee after the service?  Are you able to serve at the altar?. Extra volunteers are needed to help on the coffee rota after church on Sunday and also to join the serving team.  If you ca help with these ministries please speak to Esther, Ray (servers) and Rosemary.  Thank you
