‘Oh, come let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker.’ Psalm 95:6

Morning Prayer is back at 10.00 am every Wednesday – a Book of Common Prayer Said Service in the Lady Chapel

If you have a prayer request or would like more information, please do get in touch with Esther at St Andrew’s Vicar or call 0203 620 1885.

You don’t have to know any special prayers if you want to pray – in fact, words can often get in the way. Just picture Jesus, and then say what is in your heart, what you feel.

Not all prayers are answered in the way we might expect or desire, and we don’t always pray for God’s will to be done! Nevertheless, God hears every prayer.

What’s On

Prayers this Week

Creator God we thank you for the beauty of the created world; for its wonderful variety and the bounty that it brings forth.  Help us all to be good stewards showing love and friendship to all peoples and the enjoying the warmth and light they bring to our lives.  Be close to all who govern ensuring the decisions that they make, day by day, are made for the benefit all of the people entrusted to them in their leadership.

Lord, Creator of the world, we pray for the peoples of Afghanistan as conflict fills their world. We pray especially for the vulnerable, those poor, unable to find work, the children, especially girls being taken as young as 12 by the Taliban for sex slaves. We praise you for the peaceable, the peacemakers, and peacekeepers however difficult their work becomes.

Father God we pray for our own communities and all of our neighbours. We thank you also for our families and friends, raising before you those we know with particular needs. May your peace and love surround them bringing with it comfort and strength.
